The 2009 Experience The Mountain Parks Photos/Videos Announced

On behalf of all of our contest sponsors, we are very pleased to announce that Rui Shan, of Edmonton, Alberta submitted the winning entry to our Reader Photo Contest!
Rui's image is of a sunset over Moraine Lake - one of the most photographed landscapes in the Canadian Rockies. What makes his image so striking is the manner in
which he captures the light on the mountain peaks and the presence of vivid colour throughout.
Our sponsors have teamed up to provide Rui with a dream travel video system and an exciting 9-Day holiday for two in Revelstoke and Eagle Pass, BC.
All of the details of this incredible 9-day vacation are detailed here.
And the video system has been donated by The Camera Store, located in Calgary and it consists of a Sony HDR 520 video camera, telephoto
lens, tripod, bag, book, cleaning kit & instructional DVD, with a total value of $1,800!

Roald van Heerde of The Netherlands for the entry captioned "Golden-Mantled Ground Squirrel Entertaining the Tourists". (see below)
We have invited Rui to attend a formal presentation at The Camera Store in Calgary, so keep posted for pics of that ceremony in due course.

Over 135 Videos for your enjoyment are now available!!

Some of you might wonder what happened since our last post on December 18th last year...
Well we've been quite busy wrapping up our 2009 Photos/Videos contest.
A few days left and we'll announce who's the next winner. Some of you might still not have seen their submission up here. It will come pretty soon now.
We also prepared you a surprise; we've been hunting down the world to find the best -winter sports- videos out there just for your pleasure.
So, as of today this website has an incredible amount of videos -135- even full feature movies. Of course the bulk of it is winter-related for now.
Two pages have been added, one on the films/movies we enjoyed. You can access this page called "Inspiring Movies" here. You'll be delighted to see there no less than 15 movies, 2 being full feature films. Some of these movies originated from Switzerland, Canada, USA, or France.
The second page we added is I'd say an "instructional" one. We gathered the best tips from the best pros out there. On this page you'll discover tips on how to improve your downhill ski, snowboard, free ski, cross-country ski, and telemark skills! As we are sometimes picky and we know there are lots of videos out there, we only picked the best to help you progress. 60 videos to enjoy!
You'll also see along the right side, some players with related videos. You don't want to miss them, they are very good.

If you like -or dislike- something, or would like us to highlight or research on something don't hesitate to comment or write to us. We'd love to hear from you.
What else? During these days, we've uploaded more stories and you can usually find them at the bottom of each section. There are almost a hundred of stories and we'll be adding more. As usual, this website gets new content every day. So keep coming back as more surprises will eventually come.
