2011/2012 Photos/Videos Contest Winners officially announced

Some of you following Bob on Twitter already know who the winners are, however here is the official winners' announcement:

Category "Landscapes & Sunsets"

Second place | Photo submitted by Yu Liu of Calgary, Alberta, shot in Jasper National Park, Alberta

Third place | Photo submitted by John Vander Vinne of Edmonton, Alberta, shot in Kananaskis Country, Alberta

Fourth place | Photo submitted by Trevor Ward of Canmore, Alberta, shot in Kananaskis Country, Alberta

Category "Flowers & Wildlife"

Fourth place | Photo submitted by Klara Langeloo of Calgary, Alberta | Flower | Lynn Canyon Park, British Columbia

Category "Friends & Family"

The "Friends & Family" category winner will receive $100 as a gas card + an annual Family Pass to Canada's National Parks & Historic Sites for a value of $136.  

The Grand Prize Winner is the "Landscapes & Sunsets" category winner as well!!

This Grand Prize winner will receive a brand new HD video camera outfit, including accessories, with a retail value of $1500, generously donated by The Camera Store in Calgary.

The Grand Prize Runner-up will receive a portable outdoor campfire & accessories, valued at $330, generously donated by Campfire-in-a-Can.

Category "Videos"

The "Videos" category winner will receive $100 as a gas card + an annual Family Pass to Canada's National Parks & Historic Sites for a value of $136.  

The winner is Carmen Hoelting of Jasper, Alberta, for her video called "Black Bears fight, Blue River, British Columbia".

Our 2011/2012 Photos/Videos Contest is now over. All received submissions have been posted on our website.

Submissions to our grand 2011/2012 Photos/Videos Contest were accepted up to February 29, 2012, midnight MT.

We received a total of 396 photos;

- 224 photos in the "Landscape & Sunsets" category
- 103 photos in the "Flowers & Wildlife" category
- 69 photos in the "Friends & Family" category and
- 4 videos

Thank you all and good luck! 

Any new submissions will be entered in for the 2012/2013 Contest. You might want to wait a bit to know more about the exciting prizes Bob and our generous sponsors gathered for you.

2011/2012 Photos and Videos Contest Reminder

Our contest is not over yet. February 29, 2012 is the deadline!
We've uploaded more of your submissions and there are still submissions to be uploaded to our website here.

Please keep in mind: only the submissions following these rules will be considered. (Check the rules right under the gallery though).

Some submissions have no information at all. They are displayed, pretty often with ??? They won't be considered for the contest. So, last chance if you think you submitted photos but didn't follow the rules, or forgot to send your info please do re-submit asap.

So far, there hasn't been any video submissions, be the first to submit one as prizes are awarded per category!

2011 Experience The Mountain Parks Readers' Contest

Did we let you down? Looks like we forgot to clearly indicate how and where you could submit your best photos and videos..
At least we didn't do a great job showing what you've submitted so far.

As well, we've updated the 2011 Reader's Contest page with a brand new gallery.
We'll be showing the world your best memories!
This year, we introduced four categories: "Landscapes & Sunsets", "Flowers & Wildlife", "Friends & Family", and "Videos". Please make sure you give us enough details when uploading. If we don't have the requested information, we won't be able to consider your submission.

Lastly, we recommend you to be patient as we're gradually uploading all received submissions, and enjoy!!

2011 Experience The Mountain Parks Contest

Some of you have been asking how to submit their best shots or/and videos...Please go here!
Remember, there are no limits on how many you can submit. Last year's competition was harsh though, as we got 1463 submitted photos, and 2 videos!

But make sure to check out our great prizes and guidelines before entering.

Lastly, you might have seen we changed our top banner. We're now using some of your submitted photos. All the credit should go to you, and your support for submitting such great experiences. We'll be adding more as time unfolds. Stay tuned.
